As of this writing (2024-10-29), botsin.space is a specialized Mastodon instance that is in the process of shutting down. The reasons for this decision, and a timetable for the shutdown, are detailed in a blog entry posted today and seem to boil down to gradually escalating technical and financial [over]load (a common problem among small-to-medium instances).
