Privacy Policy for toot.cat sites
The following applies both to MeW (this wiki) and to the main toot.cat social media site.

Key points:

1. We don't do anything with your personal data beyond what the site software itself does, out of the box – with the sole exception of regular backups of the database.
   • Database backups are kept behind a NAT firewall and only retained for a limited time.
   • Site software activities include:
     • logging your requests in journald (a Linux system log)
     • sharing your posts and interactions publicly and/or with other servers with your consent, in accordance with your post and account privacy settings
2. You can:
   • obtain a copy of your MGE account data at any time via the export button in account settings
   • delete your account.
     • Other servers, web crawlers, or other entities that have received copies of your data are outside of our control, and in some cases will retain data indefinitely (e.g. if archive.org or archive.is has archived a copy of a post or profile, as shown on the web).
